The Sm@rtClient App, when paired with the SIMATIC WinCC Sm@rtServer, provides an effective solution for the remote mobile operation and monitoring of SIMATIC HMI systems via Industrial Ethernet or WLAN (wireless). This application is compatible with SIMATIC HMI Basic Panels (2nd generation), Comfort Panels, and SIMATIC WinCC Runtime Advanced.

The Sm@rtClient concept facilitates the availability of an operational station's display to the app. Within this framework, the station functions as a Sm@rtServer while the mobile device, whether a smartphone or tablet, operates as a Sm@rtClient. Enabling the Sm@rtServer functionality is straightforward and can be activated with a single click in the device's configuration settings. The Sm@rtClient can display the screen in "View only" mode; however, it also supports a full-fledged coordinated operation where only one user has control at any given time—either the operator’s station or the Sm@rtClient app. Additionally, the app simplifies connection configuration through automated detection of HMI panels.

The Sm@rtClient app does more than just display a selected screen; it also provides a complete layout of the station device, including functional hardware buttons. This allows users to interact with the device as if they were physically present but instead activates buttons through touch on their mobile screens.
